REPORT SYNOPSIS
On the 29 October 2015 we responded to a funding alert in response to an earthquake in northern regions of Pakistan: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit Baltistan, Azad Jammu Kashmir and Federally Administered Tribal Areas.
According to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA)’s Financial Tracking Service (FTS), donors have committed or contributed US$281.4 million of humanitarian assistance to Pakistan so far in 2015. The UN-coordinated Pakistan Humanitarian Strategic Plan 2015 requested US$433.8 million from donors to respond to humanitarian needs.
There are currently no specified financial pledges in response to the earthquake reported; however pledges of assistance both to Afghanistan and Pakistan have been reported from China, India and the United Nations.
